My name is Arturo Garcia, and it is truly an honor to serve the Temecula, Anza, Elsinore, and Murrieta area. My focus is on stewarding what makes our region truly special: our natural resources and working with the incredible people who call it home.

Professional Background & Expertise

Currently, I serve as the Associate Director of Local Government Relations for the California Chapter of The Nature Conservancy (TNC). In this capacity, I act as a strategic advisor and liaison to local governments, focusing on advancing conservation, climate resilience, and equity. My work involves developing local policy strategies and building the collaborative partnerships necessary to achieve long-term conservation goals.

Before joining TNC, I built a career in public service within the California State Legislature. Most recently, I served as District Director for U.S. Representative Luz Rivas in the California State Assembly.

During my tenure, I:

  • Managed district operations and spearheaded community engagement strategies.
  • Fostered deep-rooted partnerships between local governments, non-profits, and private stakeholders.
  • Successfully secured over $32.5 million in state investments for vital community projects.

My journey is grounded in a deep commitment to public trust. Whether I am navigating the mechanics of state government or advocating for habitat restoration and sustainable agriculture, my goal is always to empower the community. I believe that effective resource management requires a balance of sound science and local collaboration.

When I’m not working to protect our environment, I’m usually:

  • Spending time with my wife, Desiree, and our Salt and Pepper Mini Schnauzer, Rocky.
  • Exploring our community’s local trails at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve in Murrieta.
  • Playing my guitar.

I am deeply honored to have been appointed by Supervisor Chuck Washington to serve on the TEAM RCD board. I embrace the duty of stewardship this role confers and look forward to working with you to protect our region's future.
